I may have this wrong but surely the teams they would have looked to.sell him to.pre-covid for big money are knee deep.in the shit financially, and those that aren't would consider him.too old to pay a massive fee for?

He doesn’t say that without confirmed interest from a club he wants to join. 3 years left on contract I think. Levy will want top dollar for him.
Perfect scenario is injured during Euros, interest from other club drops interest. Spurs stuck with a player they know doesn’t want to be there

They will say they dont want to sell but Levy knows they are in huge debt and they need cash quickly. They sold Bale for an enormous sum at the time that allowed them to build and become a top 4 team for a few seasons. Glad it all fell apart.
Teh good news is that in COVID times, Levy will struggle to get what he wants ( north of 100 million). That may indeed lead to Kane falling out and it getting ugly. Which would be nice.
